My brother was employed at Hoover Dam in Boulder City & he recommended breakfast here @ Southwest Diner. We had breakfast here on Friday morning (6/27/25), sorry for the dated post/review. It was delicious and the servings were ample. The waitress was pleasant and had tips on favorite items from the menu. We enjoyed the fun diner atmosphere and music playing in the background. We were not Las Vegas type people so the relaxed vibe of this community was more to our liking. We were here on a weekday and were seated quickly. It was before 8am and it was not crowded. Me and my wife were beneficiaries of a charitable stranger who paid our bill before we even got to meet him. That made our morning. This was a great experience before our tour of the Hoover Dam (which is a convenient 15 minute drive from this diner). Thank You!

Fantastic service, fresh food and great prices. I recommend the chicken ceasee salad. Clean restrooms, outdoor and indoor seating. We will definitely be going back . Handicap accessible as well.

We had dinner at Southwest Diner on a Thursday night, and it was surprisingly quiet with no crowd. The service was friendly and the atmosphere was pleasant. The menu is very broad—offering everything from burgers and meatloaf to Mexican dishes—so it doesn’t really feel like they specialize in anything. The food itself was average—nothing bad, but nothing memorable either. We were also charged an extra fee for cheese on the cheeseburgers (just 30 cents), which seemed odd, but it wasn’t worth making an issue over. Overall, it’s a decent spot with good service, but the food is pretty basic.

We stopped for breakfast at Southwest diner on it way from Vegas to the Grand Canyon. Suzie Q was a delight and the food was delicious! The Denver Omelette, those potatoes and banana bread did not disappoint. We wanted to try the rhubarb pie and wow!! Definitely do not skip dessert here!! An added bonus was the coconut scrub in the restrooms. I hope we are able to return soon.

Cozy neighborhood local diner feel. Interior looks like a bar. They have a huge menu of burgers. Kara my waitress was super energetic and peppy. She recommended the Kyle burger and it was very tasty. The strawberry rhubarb pie was tasty as well. It was very tarty which I loved and the pie crust was not thick and heavy tasting. I highly recommend this place after hiking around near the Hoover Damn. Thank you Kara for your attentive and energetic customer service!

BEST breakfast I have had in years. I loved every minute of our time here. The food was top notch and did not have a single bad bite. Such a great little spot to see the community come to life during the early am hours. Loved that our server shared her story with us and invited us yo come back to see them again.

We stopped in on our way from Vegas to Phoenix and had an amazing meal with huge portions. Mom had the chicken fried steak and eggs and I had the green chili casserole and both were excellent. We each took a piece of pie to go and just ate those, and that is some of the best pie I have ever had. We would highly recommend stopping here. They have great food, large portions, ample parking, and a great atmosphere.

This place was an honest gem in our visit to Vegas this week. The atmosphere was amazing, comfortable, entertaining, and gave us warm feelings. The staff was responsible for the warm feelings as they were polite, very conversational, funny, and most of all decent friendly folk. I believe it is run by a Mother/Daughter team. Now the food! Perfection is an understatement. The biscuits were out of this world fluffy and awesome. The gravy was spot on. Bacon wasn’t over or under cooked, just right. The potatoes appeared and tasted like they were fresh shredded just for our order. They were tasty, tender, and crispy. The coffee in the flower pots with handles and the huge drink jars were just cherries on top for Me and my wife. Do yourself a favor and go through Boulder City on your way to Hoover Dam. You will not regret it. The detour may have added five minutes to our trip to the Dam.
